Here is an excerpt from a short essay that breaks some of the bonds that allopathic medicine has used to constrict our society.
“We would like to offer for your consideration, that there have been hundreds of valid cures over the last century, discovered by honest, hard working doctors and researchers, which have been ruthlessly crushed by vested interests and the present cancerous medical establishment. These alternative cures are considered a serious threat to these vested interests’ continued obscene profits based on the unnecessary suffering of mankind. One of the most suppressed and ironically effective therapies among these was rife frequency therapy.”

But let's face it, giving and getting can be tricky. Whenever you hear a "giving" story like this one what kind of feelings bubble up inside you? Do you feel happy for the receiver? Or do feel a tad jealous, wishing you had been given the same opportunity?
Do you struggle with giving, not giving, getting, or not getting? I think everyone has struggled with these types of issues. True altruism is an art, after all. Please answer the poll below (you can check off all answers that apply to you), also post a comment to elaborate on your personal struggles about this subject. Are you okay with giving to others? Are you receiving your fair share? Share your feelings.

It seems that the city of Scottsbluff, Nebraska currently has an ordinance prohibiting clairvoyance, fortune telling and divination. This "unconstitutional" ordinance was brought to the attention of the ACLU by a concerned citizen. A letter has since been issued from ACLU Nebraska Legal Director Amy Miller asking the city officials to repeal the ordinance. I don't know how far back this offensive law dates back, but both the Scottsbluff Police Chief and Kent Hadenfeldt, a deputy city attorney have said they are not aware of any time the ordinance was ever enforced.
I've heard of charlatons and con artists being run out of towns by law enforcement because of unethical business practices but I've not heard of any current laws forbidding spirit-based businesses in general. Although I really should not be surprised. As a small business owner prejudice taunted its ugly head at me in 1996 when I first applied for a merchant account in order to have the capability to accept Visa and Mastercard payments from clients. On the application I was asked what types of products and services I offered in my business (astrology reports, psychic readings, flower essences). A few days later I received a phone call from a woman employee of the bank telling me that my application had been denied. When I pressed her for a reason she hedged her answer at first but eventually admitted that the bank officials were concerned they would be challenged with multiple refund requests from unhappy clients. Say what?? They had made the judgment that people generally regret spending money on psychic services after the fact. They were not interested in being associated with my business.
This ridiculous decision did not come from some random bank. This denial came from a bank I'd had a relationship with for several years. I had both a checking and savings account with them. They had financed a five year car loan for me that I had paid in full without ever missing a payment. They had also managed the home loan application when my husband and I purchased our home four years previously. I was so miffed that I immediately marched down to the bank and closed my accounts, collected my money and proceeded to take our banking elsewhere. And, don't think the theatrical nature in me didn't think about dressing up like a gypsy fortune teller and publicly spatting out an eloquent evil spell in their lobby that day. Of course, I would never make a scene like that. But imagining doing so felt so very delicious!
Anyway, it is good to know there are organizations like the ACLU that are motivated to protect people's rights, including the right to offer intuitive consultations and other spiritual services to clients.

Free Advice from Angel Intuitive, Eileen Smith
Hi Eileen,
Can you see if I and my dog Brody have angels around us (I guess you think we all do, I have tried to talk to my angels with no luck) can you give me their names and how? We both have health and other issues.
Love Sharon and Brody
Dear Sharon,
It's true that angels are always around, whether we can feel them or not. Your angels and Brody's angels want you to know that they are always there. And Brody's angels want you to know that animals do have angels too. For you, please read the archives in this column as I previously wrote about the different ways we each receive love and guidance from our angels, including the receiving of names.
Your angels say you only have to ask and talk to them like you would anyone else. Also, they want you to know that they understand what is in our hearts without having to use special words. They know you, all of you. But do call on them more often. They tell me that monitoring negative thoughts that occur, learning to interrupt them and change negative thoughts into a positive is very important. Try not to identify with illness, as physical illness does not diminish the shining light of our souls. They say illness should not define a person and do not label yourself with it, even though illness is something we are challenged with as humans living on Earth at this time. The word "challenge" instead of "victim" is key here. Your angels also want you to know they love you very much and are proud of all the things you have been doing to create a better life and encourage you to keep learning new things.
As for Brody I can see 3 angels around him. They tell me he helps filter the negative issues you deal with on a daily basis. They feel energy work for both of you would be helpful and you can do it yourself if funds are an issue. They want me to stress that there are many free healing instructions and information available on the Internet for both you and Brody.
My angel Alonya tells me that animals can be like certain plants that filter the air in our home. They can "filter" or take on a lot if the animal's family is going through challenging times. It is difficult but also important to keep centered in these challenging times, especially for people who tend to have constant worry going through their minds like a looping tape. It is also important to monitor how we keep in balance and do whatever we can to limit negative thoughts and emotions that just won't seem to stop, especially for people with chronic conditions or long term stress. Alonya says there are so many free things available such as walks, meditation, library books and Internet resources. We only have to decide we want to be in a more positive place and then take a small action to start changing our perceptions.
