Many people are turning to natural health to address the relief of symptoms and ailments. Many holistic healing treatments and cures such as homeopathic remedies can help with many problems. The following article provides some great information on gaining holistic health through holistic healing.

Gain Holistic Health Online and Enjoy a Happy Life
By Patresia Adams

For the past so many years, the world has been dominated by pharmaceutical medicines. Pharmaceuticals aim to manipulate certain chemical responses in the body without concern for what is causing that response. It can’t be called a holistic approach to medicine. To achieve holistic health, you need to practice natural ways of improving immunity of the body system.

Although, people often get well when relying on prescription drugs, but these drugs themselves are more dangerous than the chemical response they attempt to correct. In some instances, they have produced life-saving results. But they don’t follow the holistic approach. Thankfully, there are a number of websites that may serve as your complete holistic health guide.

Holistic health considers the body as a whole and tries to maintain health or use corrective health solutions. A holistic approach doesn’t mean providing everything needed at once and correcting everything at once. It only means that you’re considering the needs of the whole body at once. So when you’re providing a holistic service, remedy it benefits certain aspects of the body and do not harm elsewhere in the body. And of course by when one aspect of the body starts its job correctly it also affects other aspects of the body in a positive way and has a positive spill-out effect.

Comparing this with pharmaceuticals, an antibiotic may kill certain bacteria in the body that are causing symptomatic problems; but it also kills beneficial life in the body that may lead to other problems. A holistic approach would be to find the cause of the bacteria and to remove that cause.

A true holistic approach recognizes the body as more than a mechanical device. It looks at physical health from both the chemical and quantum perspectives, as it directly affects chemical interactions occurring in the body. It is also believed that this biofield is the medium through which our thoughts and emotions affect our physical bodies and thoughts.

Divine Wellness is a complete holistic health guide that offers information on holistic health and how to achieve complete wellness by choosing the right lifestyle and eating habits.

Holistic Health care: the increasing acceptance of Holistic healing

4

Holistic health care and the methods used in holistic healing have begun to really have an increased acceptance all across the globe. People are beginning to see the true value in the holistic healing benefits of using alternative medicine with focus on a holistic approach. The following article describes the increase in acceptance that Holistic Health care has been having.

Holistic Health Care – Increased Use
By Dorothy M. Neddermeyer, PhD

There is an increasing acceptance that Holistic Health Care [HHC] is more effective than Traditional Western Medicine. Humans are complex, multi-dimensional beings who respond to positive stimulus on all levels—mind, body and spirit—and that to leave one aspect out also denies the others. Wellness is more than physical. Healthy and fulfilled individuals make better contributions to themselves and the world.

Holistic Health Care practices seek to work with the entire being so that all aspects of life are positive, productive and balanced. The society of the future realizes that being healthy and self-realized, results in a happier life.

A growing number of medical schools have begun teaching courses in Holistic Health Care; more private insurance plans have begun to recognize the utility of some forms of HHC and have offered coverage in conjunction with conventional treatments; and, in 1992, a Congressional mandate established the Office of Alternative Medicine, a small entity within the National Institutes of Health that was chartered to assess alternative therapies. Its annual budget has grown every year since 1993 and, between 1997 and 1998, increased from $12 million to $20 million.

According to a nationwide government survey released in May 2004, 36 percent of U.S. adults aged 18 years and over use some form of HHC. NCCAM, National Institutes of Health A Prevention Magazine 2002 survey of consumer use of dietary supplements revealed that an estimated 158 million consumers use dietary supplements and spend approximately $8.5 billion per year. An estimated 22.8 million consumers use herbal remedies instead of prescription medicine, and an estimated 19.6 million use them with a prescription product. Similarly, an estimated 30.3 million use herbals instead of an over-the-counter drug (OTC), while approximately 19 million use herbals and OTC’s together.

In 2002, Geoffrey Cowley, Senior Editor of NEWSWEEK reported, “We make more visits to non-conventional healers (some 600 million a year) than we do to MDs, and we spend more of our own money for the privilege–about $30 billion a year by recent estimates.”

Use of Holistic Health Care in the U.S:

In the United States, 36% of adults are using some form of Holistic Health Care. When megavitamin therapy and prayer specifically for health reasons are included, that number rises to 62%.

Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) describes a $228.9 billion U.S. marketplace for goods and services focused on health, the environment, social justice, personal development and sustainable living. The consumers attracted to this market have been collectively referred to as Cultural Creatives and represent a sizable group in this country. Approximately 36 percent of the adults in the U.S., or 60 million people, are currently embracing a holistic lifestyle.

Health Conditions Prompting Holistic Health Care Use:

People use HHC for a wide array of diseases and conditions. According to a survey, Americans are most likely to use HHC for back, neck, head, or joint aches, or other painful conditions; colds; anxiety or depression; gastrointestinal disorders; or sleeping problems. It appears that HHC is most often used to treat and/or prevent musculoskeletal conditions or other conditions involving chronic or recurring pain.

Reasons for Holistic Health Care:

The survey asked people to select from five reasons to describe why they used HHC. Results were as follows (people could select more than one reason):

• HCC would improve health: 55%

• HCC would be interesting to use: 50%

• Conventional medical treatments would not help: 28%

• A conventional medical professional suggested HCC: 26%

• Conventional medical treatments are too expensive: 13%

Results for Holistic Health Care:

No reports of deaths caused by Holistic Health Care have been published. It is fair to assume that if there were deaths caused by HHC the reports would be judiciously reported as the AMA is searching for ways to discredit and discount HHC practices.

Results for Traditional Western Medicine Health Care:

In 2001, the top 50 medical and surgical procedures totaled approximately 41.8 million. These figures were taken from the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project within the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.13 Using 17.6 percent from the 1974 U.S. Congressional House Subcommittee Oversight Investigation as the percentage of unnecessary surgical procedures, and extrapolating from the death rate in 1974, we come up with an unnecessary procedure number of 7.5 million (7,489,718) and a death rate of 37,136, at a cost of $122 billion (using 1974 dollars).

Problems involving patients’ medications were even higher the following year. The error rate intercepted by pharmacists in this study was 24%, making the potential minimum number of patients harmed by prescription drugs 417,908.50.

The leading causes of adverse drug reactions are antibiotics (17%), cardiovascular drugs (17%), chemotherapy (15%), and analgesics and anti-inflammatory agents (15%).11.

• The World Health Organization in 2000 ranked the United States 37th out of 191 countries in health care services.

• U.S. life expectancy is nearly three years shorter on average than Canadians’ and about two years less than that of the French.

• The United States spent more than $6,000 per person on health care in 2004, about double what France, Germany and Canada spent per capita.

Sources: World Health Organization, United Nations, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development

Results for Holistic Mental Health Care:

American Health Magazine reported these findings from a comparison study.

• Psychoanalysis: Creates a 38% recovery after 600 sessions

• Behavior Therapy: Creates a 72% recovery after 22 sessions

• Hypnosis: Creates a 93% recovery after 6 sessions

Results for Society:

What does this mean for society, if society understands and participates in the benefits of Holistic Health Care?

• Few, if any sick days.

• Reduced absenteeism for businesses. CCH survey, conducted by Harris Interactive ®, the average per-employee cost of absenteeism was $789 per year in 2002, up from $755 in 2001, while the absenteeism rate declined slightly to 2.1 percent from 2.2 percent in 2001.

• No adverse reactions/side effects.

• Minimal short and long-term disability expenses.

• Live a healthy and productive life.

• Live a healthy longer life.

• Few, if any age related illnesses.

Such companies as Apple, Google, Yahoo, AstraZeneca, IBM, 3M, Cisco, Solectron, Knokia, NASA, Sun Microsystems, Pacific Stock Exchange, Texas Instruments, Raytheon, Vortel Network offer free on-site classes in meditation.

The motivation is clear meditation increases concentration, boosts intuition, relieves fatigue, reves up creativity and enhances organization skills.

Alternative Medicine: Choosing Holistic healing Or Allopathic Medicine

Alternative Medicine: Choosing Holistic healing Or Allopathic Medicine

You might find yourself new to the benefits of Holistic healing over Allopathic medicine. Many people seek information that can educate them to the healing nature of natural medicine and a Holistic healing approach. The following article addresses this issue.

Choosing Holistic Or Allopathic Medicine
By Suzanne McPherson

Are you considering changing doctors? Are you interested in what eastern medicine is all about? Are you ready for a change in your healthcare professional? Much talk is going on about the advantages and disadvantages of eastern medicine. People are getting confused about what it is and what it is not.

Western medicine is often times referred to as allopathic medicine. According to one on line dictionary the term means “relating to or being a system of medicine that aims to combat disease by using remedies (as drugs or surgery) which produce effects that are different from or incompatible with those of the disease being treated.” Generally speaking, most of us living in the United States are accustomed to this type of treatment. We go in for immunizations without questions, and flu shots are given freely.

Eastern medicine focuses on prevention and can be referred to as holistic or alternative medicine. Naturopaths do not prescribe pharmaceutical drugs, but rather work at elevating ones own immune system. Some clinics have a dispensary and may include vitamins, supplements, homeopathic remedies and tinctures.

Which is the best route to go? The best idea is to incorporate both. If you break your leg, you’ll need western medicine. Keep your naturopath in the loop to see if there is something you can do to encourage healing. You will want to be upfront and tell your internist that you are also seeing a naturopath and vise versa. That makes it easier for them to work together to give you the best health care.

There are many opportunities to use alternative healing. Acupuncture is great for just about anything that is a problem, whether it is a cold or hot flashes. This involves penetrating the skin with thin solid, metallic needles that are manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation. The idea is to work with the meridians within the body. Energy work such as reiki, or Quantum Touch® are simply hands on healing methods that can move the energy in your body to help with emotional as well as physical problems. Massage therapy feels great and typically the intent is to relax the soft tissues, increase the delivery of blood and oxygen to the massaged areas, warm them and decrease the pain. During the process toxins are released and can be flushed out of the body by drinking lots of water. Emotional Freedom Technique® is a unique version of acupuncture, except you don’t use needles. Instead you stimulate the meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips. Again the point is to balance the body energies to create and maintain your health.

To stay healthy and prevent problems incorporate both eastern and western medicine into your life. They work beautifully together.

I work with healing energy and teach different kinds of healing modalities such as Reiki, Quantum Touch®, essential oils, sound healing and the metaphysical properties of stones. My blog is filled with alternative healing methods and ideas to help us all live an emotional, spiritual and physically healthier life at http://www.zenergygal.com Watch for my forthcoming book on alternative ways to Tweak Your Health.

Natures Alternative Medicine – Essential Oils

0

Essential oils are one of natures most incredible healing gifts. They are filled with healing properties and are very beneficial with many uses.

Natures Original Alternative Medicine – Essential Oils and the Test of Time!
By Deborah Hardman

In the Bible, there are more than 188 references to precious oils (essential oils as we call them today). A few of the more commonly known essential oils are: frankincense, myrrh, cassia, rosemary, and cinnamon. These were used not only for anointing, but also for healing of the sick.

Essential oils are widely considered mankind’s first medicine. Around for centuries, these natural healing oils, have been used to treat various illnesses and physical needs. Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and Chinese manuscripts can trace the uses of healing oils as far back as 4500 BC. Three essential oils common today (frankincense, cedarwood, and myrrh) were not only used in temple and pyramid religious ceremonies and rituals, but even in the embalming process.

Let’s take frankincense for instance. This natural oil was lavishly used in religious rites. Wikipedia states – In the Book of Exodus in the Old Testament, it was an ingredient for incense (Ex 30:34); according to the book of Matthew 2:11, gold, frankincense, and myrrh were among the gifts to Jesus by the Biblical Magi “from out of the East.”

Essential Oils and Traditional Medicine

Many scientific uses of frankincense as ayurvedic (a system of traditional medicine native to the Indian Subcontinent and practiced in other parts of the world) and alternative medicine are being investigated. A few of the studies are as a treatment for chronic inflammatory diseases such as Crohns disease, ulcerative colitis, and osteoarthritis. An aroma therapeutic study (reported in May 2008 FASEB Journal) determined frankincense smoke is a psychoactive drug that relieves depression and anxiety in mice.

Research has also shown, the essential oil of frankincense may be able to bring relief to people suffering from osteoarthritis. One study, using an enriched frankincense essential oil extract, helped patients in a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study show marked improvement in their arthritis in as little as seven days.

Pure Frankincense is edible. Chewy in its resin form and -and I’d say purer as well- as a healing oil, it is often used for digestion and healthy skin in various Asian traditional medicines. Ayurvedic medicine has used Indian frankincense for hundreds of years for the treatment of arthritis.

Another use, for the essential oil of frankincense, is as an aromatherapy oil. It has a nice balsamic and sweet fragrance, and very fresh smell. Frankincense aromatherapy oil is found in many perfumes. Although, fresh smelling to people, burning frankincense acts as a mosquito repellent. In fact, many of the essential oils and aromatherapy blends for mosquito repellents on the market today (it’s easy to make your own as well) have frankincense as one of the ingredients.

As you can see, we have been blessed with a whole world of wonderful and natural healing oils we can use for all kinds of uses. And one my favorite ways to take advantage of the power in essential oils, is to let their aroma therapeutic scents drift in, to lift spirits, balance moods, and dispel negative emotions.

Many blessing to you,

Alternative Medicine: Truths, Facts and Myths

1

The Facts About Alternative Medicine
By Jill Manty

The term “alternative” medicine is a far-reaching one that describes a number of health and healing methods. Generally, when using “alternative” you are talking about medicinal and general health practices, products, etc. that are not a part of society’s conventional medical systems. Sometimes referred to as “complementary” medicine when used in addition to, as opposed to instead of, conventional systems, the term can cover everything from folk medicine to faith healing to therapeutic massage. In other words, if you can’t learn it in medical schools or get it in conventional hospitals, it’s considered “alternative.”

Because so many different approaches to health and wellness are lumped under the alternative heading, it can be difficult to decide whether or not to take any of them seriously. Fad diets, homeopathy, acupuncture, herbology, yoga, probiotics and new age healing are just a few of the choices that fall under alternative medicine. But how are you supposed to know what is real from what is quackery?

There are many sources that attempt to back alternative medicine practices with scientific study. A quick search through the library or Internet will result in lots of studies and first-hand experiences that prove or disprove the worth of just about any alternative method you can name. Ask friends and family if they have tried a particular treatment or practice, you’ll be surprised how many people go outside of conventional medicine for alternate therapies. Many of us already use alternative medicine without even realizing it.

Remember when grandma insisted on her special chicken soup when you were sick, or a friend recommended an egg yolk mask for acne just because that’s what her mom did?

Those are great examples of alternative medicine, and there’s plenty of research out there that shows them to have real world value. Chicken soup is easy to eat when you’re sick and provides necessary hydration, vitamins, minerals, and protein to help you recover. The high protein in egg yolks soothes and enriches the skin, as it dries it pulls out impurities, and all without adding oils or over drying. Just because a medical doctor didn’t prescribe them doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t work.

Some alternative medicines have become more accepted by the conventional medical community. Acupuncture, part of traditional Chinese medicine, has been practiced for thousands of years and is considered conventional in many Asian countries. However, acupuncture is accepted only for pain management in the US. Acupuncturists claim it can help everything from weight loss to infertility, but this has not been definitively proven in scientific study. Practitioners in the US are highly trained and must get a license before treating patients. Licenses aren’t infallible, but it does lend extra assurance that a professional with high standards is treating you. Further proof of acceptance is that many insurance companies will cover treatment by a licensed acupuncturist.

It is still important to take care when choosing to use alternative medicine. Be sure and do your homework. While it may not hurt to put egg on your face, taking herbs without knowing how they may interact with other medicines or knowing proper dosages can cause serious problems. Going to an unlicensed practitioner for something like acupuncture can result in serious injury. You should consult with your present health practitioner to discuss the alternative medicines you are considering. Be sure to weigh the risks and benefits carefully before trying anything new. Always let each health professional know all of your medical history and present practices.

Many people find great results from alternative and complementary medicine. When you explore these “new” options, you may find that there are centuries old ways to take care of your body and mind that have been overlooked by today’s western medicine. Careful research and a mindful approach can help you achieve a better lifestyle and enjoy good health.

Alternative and Complementary Therapies Meet Conventional Healthcare

0

Alternative & Complementary Therapies Meet Conventional Healthcare
By Yvonne Perry

The medical world is experiencing a shift in the way it treats health and disease. While alternative therapies were quickly dismissed by physicians as worthless or dangerous just a decade ago, alternative medicines are now beginning to earn mainstream attention. Physicians are beginning to realize that there is a relationship between a person’s emotional, spiritual and mental state of mind and their physical health.

Many conventional doctors are beginning to integrate a holistic approach to their practice by addressing environmental, psychological and spiritual aspects of the patient. Biomedical, or modern-day medicine relies heavily upon curing disease through the use of chemically compounded pharmaceuticals. Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) uses a more natural approach that includes herbal supplements, vitamins, acupuncture, chiropractic, nutrition, guided imagery, homeopathic treatment, prayer, chelation therapy, massage, biofeedback, music therapy, exercise and fitness, hypnosis and other mind-body techniques and energy modalities that work with the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Years ago if a person was using CAM therapies, he or she might have been reluctant to tell their medical doctor about it for fear of being shamed or lectured about the dangers.

Additionally, physicians had little knowledge then about the alternative therapies and supplements their patients were using. Fortunately things have changed and a number of doctors are referring patients to some of the more prominent and well-known forms of CAM therapies that they believe are useful or effective. In 1997, Harvard Medical School reported that more than one third of the U.S. population was currently using some type of CAM therapy. But, that was nine years ago. In 2001, The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine reported that almost 70% of the population has at least tried some sort of CAM therapy along with conventional medicine. That trend is on the rise and will continue to affect future healthcare delivery, making an even greater demand for CAM therapies. This means that conventional doctors must be educated in the use of these modalities in order to know what their patient’s are talking about. Why do people seek alternative and complementary medical care? It is believed that CAM would improve health when used in combination with conventional medical treatments.

Many people try CAM when conventional medical treatments have not helped or are too expensive. Some people are just plain curious, and others try CAM because a conventional medical professional suggested it. Some health insurance policies now cover chiropractic and massage as part of patient care, and CAM courses are appearing in the curriculum as part of academic medical education. Hospitals such as St. Thomas in Nashville, Tennessee are affiliating with alternative health and fitness facilities such as the YMCA of Middle Tennessee to integrate the two practices. The change is occurring but not without opposition.

The FDA wants to regulate all over-the-counter medications including the herbs and homeopathic remedies. The FDA would like to place supplements under government control as “prescription only” products. The FDA is not concerned about people overdosing on Flintstones. It has more to do with the pharmaceutical industry being one of the country’s biggest taxpayers and therefore one of the most influential lobbyists. It is up to those of us who use alternative modalities to protect our rights as citizens. It is the right of each individual to maintain a healthy body, and it is time for each of us to take responsibility and action — for our own health and the sake of our children’s — by increasing our awareness, reading books and articles, researching and getting involved. The FDA needs to know where the people stand. Write to your Congressperson today.

THE HIGH COST OF CANCER IS UNNECESSARY

0
WHAT REALLY IS THE CAUSE OF ASTRONOMICAL COSTS IN HEALTHCARE?

“Even patients with so-called "good" employer-provided insurance may face co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles over multiple years and coverage restrictions. The average medical debt for cancer patients with private insurance at the start of their illness was $35,878 in 2005, according to a 2005 Harvard University study of the causes of bankruptcy.

Cancer-care costs are rising at a rate of 15% per year, almost three times as fast as health-care costs overall, and the newest cancer medications cost thousands of dollars per month.”

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/surviving-cancer-and-keeping-your-nest-egg-intact-2010-02-04?pagenumber=1

AND THIS IS JUST “AT THE START”. FROM THE SAME ARTICLE:

“In 2007, doctors discovered breast cancer in then-47-year-old Roseanne Nabhan. The Portage, Ind., woman underwent 28 weeks of radiation therapy and a lumpectomy to remove the malignant tumor and today she is free of her cancer -- but not her medical bills.

“Of about $60,000 in total costs, her insurance, a catastrophic-coverage individual plan, only paid $3,500. "I spoke to everyone at the radiation center and was really upset," Nabhan said. "I told them I'm a waitress/bartender who earns $18,000 a year, what can I do? I can't hand over my entire income."’

HERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION:

ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE. MAYBE IT IS TIME TO REALLY CHANGE THE SYSTEM. SO FAR, ALL ANYONE IN THE GOVERNMENT HAS DONE IS TINKER WITH THE SAME OLD MEDICAL MACHINE, TRYING TO GET MORE MILEAGE OUT OF A POLLUTING, DIRTY ENGINE THAT IS INEFFICIENT AND INEFFECTIVE.

WHAT WE NEED IS, TO ALLOW OTHER MORE INNOVATIVE MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES TO HAVE AN HONEST CHANCE TO COMPETE. SO FAR, THE FDA, THE AMA AND OTHER VESTED INTERESTS HAVE MANAGED TO SUPPRESS ALL EFFECTIVE NEW MEDICAL THERAPIES IN THIS COUNTRY. SOME COUNTRIES LIKE GERMANY, WHILE NOT ENDORSING NEW AND EXPERIMENTAL MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES, STILL ALLOW THESE TO BE USED IF THE TREATING PHYSICIAN SO CHOOSES, E.G. OZONE, RIFE, ETC.

“Insurers generally cover IV treatments upfront, but oral agents, which cost $5,000-$6,000 per month, fall under prescription benefits which some policies dictate that the patient pay the pharmacy and wait for reimbursement.”
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/surviving-cancer-and-keeping-your-nest-egg-intact-2010-02-04?pagenumber=1

DOES INSURANCE REALLY COVER THE COSTS? CAN IT CONTINUE TO DO SO IF WE STRAIN AN ALREADY FALTERING SYSTEM? AND WHAT OF THE SIDE EFFECTS AND THE DAMAGE THAT THE CURRENT INVASIVE AND DESTRUCTIVE THERAPIES PRODUCE? MANY ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES LIKE OZONE AND RIFE HAVE NEXT TO ZERO SIDE EFFECTS? AND THE COST?

“I think we can agree that $224,725 is a lot of money! If you add the amount I paid to the amount that insurance paid, you'll see that the cancer centers received about 62% of what they billed. In some cases, insurance paid all of the billing. In most cases, they paid 50-70%. In a few cases, I have no idea how the provider is able to operate, as insurance paid only 15% of the billed amount!”
http://www.alixnorth.com/what-does-it-cost-have-cancer

THE COST OF TREATING A CANCER PATIENT WITH OZONE OR RIFE THERAPIES IF SELF ADMINISTERED CAN BE LESS THAN TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS? EVEN WITH A REPUTABLE ALTERNATIVE DOCTOR, THE COST IS NEGLIGIBLE COMPARED WITH CHEMO, SURGERY OR RADIATION. ANOTHER REASON WHY THERE IS SO MUCH RESISTANCE FROM THE ESTABLISHMENT----MONEY!

“Ron Paul is one of the few physicians serving in Congress, and one of even fewer Congressmen who are trying to decrease government involvement in your health care.

In terms of your health, Ron Paul:
• Wants to expand your ability to use alternative medicine and new treatments
• Opposes legislation that increases the FDA‘s legal powers
• Believes the government should never have the power to force you to get vaccinations”

THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE INEXPENSIVE, EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVES TO THE CURRENT MEDICAL SYSTEM WAY OF DOING THINGS, ESPECIALLY DOCTORS. IF THEY ARE REALLY DEVOTED TO CURING THEIR PATIENTS AND NOT JUST ETERNALLY SUPPRESSING SYMPTOMS WHILE IGNORING CAUSES, THEN THEY WILL WELCOME THIS. RIGHT NOW, THE MEDICAL SYSTEM IS CRUMBLING UNDER ITS OWN WEIGHT. IT NEEDS CHANGE, REAL CHANGE. WE ARE DRIVING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION AND NO AMOUNT OF TINKERING WITH THIS PRESENT SYSTEM WILL MAKE THINGS BETTER. WE HAVE TO CHANGE DIRECTIONS AND GO TOWARD WHAT WORKS. WE HAVE TO OPEN MEDICINE TO THE SAME INNOVATIVE REVOLUTION THAT HIGH TECHNOLOGY HAS ENJOYED. WE NEED TO STOP ALLOWING VESTED INTERESTS TO RESTRICT MEDICAL RESEARCH IN AREAS THAT CONFLICT WITH PRESENT GIANT FINANCIAL INTERESTS OR WE WILL CERTAINLY GO THE WAY OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE AND OTHER SOCIETIES THAT FELL VICTIM TO THE GREED AND AVARICE OF ITS OWN CITIZENS AND LEADERS.
